Install A sinhala font to ubuntu 9.04

I tried to install a sinhala font to the directory USR/SHARE/TRUETYPE/. But I couldn't copy the font to that directory. Because it is read only.

Welcome to LQ.
It has already been mentioned where to copy fonts and how you need to do that. Also there is a mention of sudo that will allow you copy fonts in a directory that is owned by root.
