Instal from rpms

Please help!!! I am a complete newbie to linux. I tried downloading iso files from various mirrors and they were all corrupt. Now I am attempting to download all the rpms for SuSE 9.1 professional. However the download is now at over 1.8GB. Will I be able to install on to another hard disk from this. Or does it have to be an iso image. I intend to inatall it on a 40 gig slave.

I used 2 different burning programs. Nero & Cheetah. I had Mandrake but it had all sorts of probs configuring hardware. I was told if I download the personal edition of suse 9.1, I can do an ftp install of 9.1 pro. But I don't see how that can be done because, as I was also informed, the persnal version doesn't come with any support for modem or a dsl connection.
