Question Image of a hole server installation.

Hi.I have a question. Is it possible (under debian, without a GUI) to burn an image of a hole server installation and configuration, so that I can set up other servers with this CD/DVD and have the same configuration without configurating all again and again?
I would be very happy if this would work....

I'm not going to guarantee this will work, but...

1. Boot a LiveCD (Ubuntu, DSL, Knoppix etc) to the terminal
2. Use dd to make an ISO image:
Code:
dd if=/dev/hda of=/path/to/output/file
3. Burn ISO to CD or DVD

I'm not sure if you're be able to write the output file to the RAMdisk, so unless you have a second hard drive that you're note imagine, you could mount that and output to there, otherwise you'll need to network mount something and output there...

Just make sure that when recopying the image, the destination partition should be the same size as the source.

there is an excellent thread on "learn the dd command" refer to that for more information.
