2 ways to run programs

1 from the start file menu

2. find a terminal in that same menu and type the name of your program e.g. konqueror

as for nvidia stuff try practicing around a bit leaning the basics then we'll tell you

Google is your friend as are the many howtos and guides that *buntu has available.

Feisty - Kubuntuguide
http://kubuntuguide.org/Feisty#Insta....2FATI_drivers

Chapter 3. Adding, Removing and Updating Applications
https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/kubuntu...lications.html

User Documentation - Community Ubuntu Documentation
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/

I would suggest getting familiar with the way things work and reading the docs before messing things up.

the *ubuntu's do things slightly differently than most distro's, so following the link above would be the wise choice.

the executable bit is not set and/or you need elevated privileges to execute it

sudo chmod +x NVIDIArestofgiantfilenamehere.run
sudo ./NVIDIAyadayadayada.run
