Installing a keylogger will take less than a second, you will not recognize it. Obviously it depends on the rights/permissions, but that is another issue.
How do you know if you were hacked? Did you try any scanner already?
Hijacking and hacking are two different things, not necessarily related to each other.

In defense of the OP, I suggest you people googling for the words: 'diaspora hacking'.

Whatever I would find when using that search engine to enter that term...

... the problem is that some people bend a "suspicious" problem on their computer to fit one of these stories really existing hacking techniques - maybe because they read the news item first, then experience a problem that they are convinced fits the symptoms, or maybe because they have the problem first, search for an explanation and find this.
Whichever way round, it's not scientific at all.
A real analysis of what really happens/happened on the machine always seems to be completely absent with those threads, and impossible to bring forth even with help & guidance...

PS: some good real life advice from rokytnji there. In other words: Don't Panic.

If anyone scans their internet connection they will notice millions of automated hacking attempts per week.
It is not a question of someone trying to access you as such. It is simply a business of hacking. Think State run hacking groups and for profit hacking.

If you believe any system is really secure then I suggest one look back and the many many updates/patches that have been posted to mitigate the error. You make a system somewhat secure until the creeps/crooks find a way in.

And there are groups in Germany and St Petersburg that just do not care. They've been at this for months. And others.

As you say, continuous, 2-3 times a minute, around the clock.
