I tried to install virtualbox 6.0 but got this message: error dependency is not satisfiable libvpx1 (>=1.0.0)


I tried to install virtualbox 6.0 but got this: error dependency is not satisfiable libvpx1 (>=1.0.0) I'm running Linux Mint

You don't tell us what version of Mint, where you got VirtualBox, or how you're trying to install it. Not much we can tell you without any useful details.

Depending on version of Mint, you should just add the repository, and run "sudo apt-get install -y virtualbox-xxx", where the xxx is the version you want. One of the (MANY) hits on "how to install virtualbox on linux mint": https://www.itzgeek.com/how-tos/linu...x-mint-17.html

The version of Linux Mint is Cinnamon 18.3 I believe. I downloaded it from virtualbox website. I tried installing it with the built-in package installer. I'm new with Linux so thank you for your patience.

Read the how-to guide I provided the link to. Simple commands, but you should go with the online repositories whenever possible. The package managers satisfy all the dependencies automatically.
