You want the linux-2.6. You will also need to reinstall the nvidia drivers as the module will need to be compiled for 2.6.

You will need to patch the nvidia drivers with patches that can be found here: http://www.minion.de/

I hate to intrude on your thread tombomb, but im extremely new to linux and had a question for you. I also want to update to kernel 2.6 cos I have red hat 9 w/ kernel 2.4.20-8 as well. How do you begin to recompile to 2.6 and where did you get the new red hat linux from in the first place?

any help is appreciated -- Thanx

www.kernel.org has the new kernel. There is a how-to post at the top of the Linux-General forum with instructions for compiling 2.6.
