I I have a printer, HP Officejet Pro L7555. It is connected to a Linksys

With this connection my computer does not operate. When connected with the usb it will operate. I want it to operate through the Linksys.

I would put in a static IP address but I do not know how.

If you don't have HPLIP, get it. It will discover the printer for you. It should be in the repos if it didn't come with Kubuntu. Note that the HPLIP Gui ("hp-toolbox" on the command line) is often a separate package from the base HPLIP install.

I have an Office Jet Pro L7680 that works flawless over my network.

I would suggest that the printer have a static IP address; it makes life a lot easier.

You can download the docs from HP.

On my printer L7680, there is a place in the settings display on the printer itself for setting the IP address:

It's Setup-->Network-->Advanced-->IP Address.

I looked at a picture of the printer. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a similar menu; it looks very similar.

There is also a way to connect to a web interface from your browser. The manuals should explain that.
