What's the deal? Linux is the most frustrating, unaccessable waste of my time. The "Linux Community" hails itself as the answer to microsoft and bla bla bla... but the truth is that this is just for a buch of elitist computer geeks. period. There's no real help out here. The only people that can work linux are professionals who spend all day working on it. Its like the Linux Community just said "Go F Yourself" to anybody who wants to switch from Windows.

I can't get mp3's to work. XMMS won't play anything. I can't even get access to some of my directories. but that wouldn't matter any way cause i have no frekin idea what a dev directory is for. Lord knows nobody's going to tell me. Where do my programs get installed? That is when i can figure out how to install them. its impossible to figure anything out. all i can figure out is that you can click an rpm file and that might install something that works. Then good Frekin luck finding the program and being able to run it. it just installs it and that's the last you hear about it. and forget it if you want to install something that isn't already compiled or whatever. Who knows how that works. tarball? what? Oh... and uninstall a program? HAHAHAHAHA~!!! what? where did it get installed to in the frist place. how does it run. are there exe files? what the F is going on. Elitist computer fascists. pisses me off.

This is hopeless. there's no beginner's manual. there's no explination about the differences between this and windows. and i'm not going to go to these forums every 5 seconds... sign up... and then ask a question about something that should be easy to figure out. i mean.... I CAN'T INSTALL ANY PROGRAMS!!!! THAT'S ESSENTIAL TO HAVING AN OPERATING SYSTEM~!!!! HOW STUPID IS LINUX!?!!!?!!!

It just makes me so mad. I guess i'll leave you all with this last comment.

You always get what you pay for... and Linux is free.

It's your first post, you've not tried to ask for help.

This forum tries to be as friendy ad possible. With your post, you offend all users - not only those with big knowledge (geeks, but not only), but also those who are new to Linux, trying to find answers to their questions. They're not "a buch of elitist computer geeks". For sure.
