Unhappy I am not getting the pen drive icon in my Desktop ? using RHEL5

Hi all

I am using RHEL 5. When i plug my USB pen drive, I am not getting the pen drive icon on my Desktop. I using GNOME Desktop. But i can mount manually. I used to find the exact driver from "fdisk -l" command. Please help me to sort out this issue.

Thanks & Regards

Is hal running?

Code:
$ pgrep -l hald
If not, start it ...

Code:
# service haldaemon start

How about settings in Gnome > System > Preferences > Removable Drives & Media?

Also check to see if gnome-volume-manager is installed.
