HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-one

How's it possible for me to make Mandriva/Mandrake to recognize the printer for what it is and not an older version? The model doesn't exist in the list of HP's Printers. A friend of mine told me that it's possible that HP hasn't released any drivers for Linux yet. Is that correct?

This wasn't very helpful for me. It's already installed in my Ubuntu Edgy Eft, but my OfficeJet c6180 isn't listed in the list. The closest I know of is the Officejet plain driver, which lacks a lot of functionality. I'll ultimately want to be able to use the Scanner too, wirelessly for that matter, so any help on setting it up with XSane would be wonderful treat. I checked in the #ubuntu-help but didn't get any response.

Thanks in advance

I found an answer here, http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...34&postcount=3

but I did not find how to install and use the scanning feature.
