How to upgrade ogmrip 0.12.2 to 0.13.0?

I have ogmrip installed . It is version 0.12.2.

I have on my desktop ogmrip-0.13.0.tar.gz.

How do I install the file to replace 0.12.2 with 0.13.0?

I have tried the sudo aptitude install <file name> and it comes back as cannot find the file.

I have tried extracting into /opt and using the file "install.sh" and nothing happened.

What's next Please?

What distro are you using? If you are using any Debian / Ubuntu distro try using
Code:
apt-get update
apt-get install ogmrip
You may also want to use apt-cache to search for the latest binary version available.

'ogmrip-0.13.0.tar.gz' is a tarball containing all files to build the tool. You need to extract it (you already did), and then build the application. Building is usually done by:
./configure
make
make install

but you should read the documentation - there must be some files like README, INSTALL or similar.

That is what gave me the ogmrip 0.12.2

@jeromeNP7
I did all that before. I could find no way to start the installation of ogmrip 0.13.0.

I have decided that I don't need the program after all. I needed a program that would rip my DVD-RW's to my hard drive in the vob's that were on the DVD.

I have about decided that I will stay with my WinXP SP3 for copy and edit of DVDs. It is so much easier and faster than trying to figure out this very simple Windows task in Ubuntu.

Thanks for your attention. You can mark this as resolved.
