How to run apps in soft mode using the terminal


Basically using the bash terminal i want to run an app in soft mode,how to do that ?

sorry i meant SAFE mode , how do i run apps in SAFE mode using the terminal ?

As far as I know a safe mode would be specific to the application. What application are you specifically wanting to run in safe mode?
