How to Restricts files in attachment like .exe in sendmail on RHEL3


Respected All,

I have configure sendmail, I have increase size of attachment in upto 10M
i wish to restricts the types of file attached in sendmail like .exe, .com ...etc. same as in gmail or any other general emails providers.

I don't understant who to do this.If any one have solution kindly give me reply.

Sorry, that's not the way this forum works...we're not going to provide you with one-on-one email support for your problems. We're here to SHARE information, not just support you.

Try Google for more information, this was found after a very brief search.

sendmail itself does not look at the content of a message, so it is not in a position to strip attachments. You need a filtering package that works with sendmail. You might want to look at www.milter.org for some open source solutions that use our "milter" facility. There's also something called MIMEDefang that can do it.
