How to open particular ports in linux


Hi Team,

I want to open some ports in RHEL 5.4, this is the port i need to open.

1981,1982,12345,8086,8189,2500,13000,13001,13002,8989,80
9200,92001,92002,9203.


Anybody please help me out ..

opening usually means actually running something on those ports. They aren't "open" unless something is there to be connected to. You can stop them being blocked, IF IF IF they are blocked currently by updating iptables with system-config-firewall or editing /etc/sysconfig/iptables directly and restarting the iptables service.

As acid_kewpie said, unless there's something LISTENING on the port, you can't 'open' it. Or do you mean you need to open them in your firewall/iptables?? If that's the case, please reference the IP Tables commands you've received before, and put the ports in as needed.
