How to modify GNOME theme?

Does anybody know if there's a way to modify the Ubuntu Dust theme to add transparency to the window decorations? I love the look of the theme, but would love it even more if there was a transparent border around the window, kind of like in all the Vista aero mockups, but still keeping the nice dark color scheme.

Is this possible? How would I do this?

Thanks!

Try looking into compiz. It should not modify your background only add extra eye candy. However just an upfront message, this will probably eat alot more resources.
