Unhappy How to get into Linux Recovery Mode with Grub2Win (forgot password)

Hi, I'm a complete Linux beginner and have no programming knowledge and am completely stuck. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T15p and I usually use Windows (11) for everything. But for my work it is better for me to use Linux. I didn't want to fully transition though, so I decided to make a partition on my hard drive and install Linux Ubuntu on there. This part I also managed a few months ago and I managed to get Ubuntu to boot by entering the BIOS and manually changing the boot order of my harddrives (can't fully remember how it worked). But because I had some trouble with the Ubuntu interface (either the fonts were all to small with the settings set to 100% or way to big with them set to 200% and I didn't figure out how to solve that problem immediately) I just procrastinated the issue and went back to using Windows. Until today, when I decided I want to tackle this UI problem. I first encountered a different problem - no matter what I set to boot first in the BIOS, somehow it always booted Windows and I couldn't get Linux to boot even when I selected the harddrive on which the Linux partition is located. Anyway, I solved that by downloading Grub2Win and adding Ubuntu to this boot manager and deactivating secure boot, so that the first thing to boot is the Grub2Win Manager and I can select Ubuntu to boot. Progress! But now to the problem at hand:
I forgot my Ubuntu password. I tried out everything, searched everywhere, no chance. I can't get in there. I am devastated.
A quick google told me that I need to load the Linux recovery mode to delete the password, but for this usually people already had the Linux Grub2 Bootloader available which I do not. I don't know if I also automatically have this installed somewhere along with Ubuntu itself or if I'd need to get into Linux first to install it there? Anyway, I have no clue how to get there/install it.
Is there a way for me to be able to enter the recovery mode with Grub2Win? Or do you have an entirely different solution for my problem?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread or smth!
And thanks for all help in advance - much apprechiated!

If you can't boot Ubuntu you can use a 'live' DVD/USB, whatever you used to originally install Ubuntu to reset your password. The site at the link below gives several options. You should be able to select Recovery mode from the boot menu for Ubuntu, so if Grub2Win software does not provide that you will need to use a USB with the Ubuntu installer on it and select the 'Try Ubuntu' option.

One of the most common problems dual booting windows/Linux is on EFI machines and not installing in the same mode on the same drive but you haven't posted any specific information on your installs so no one would be able to help with that. I've never used Grub2Win so can't help you with its limitations.
