Try following the advice here.. Here is another good place to do it with source code.
Normally in Debian, I just get firmware version 3.0 and unpack it to /lib/firmware and reboot (there should be 4 or 5 files ending in .fw that need to be copied to /lib/firmware), the driver is included with the kernel already.
