How to Create Simple SNMP Trap Application ( C or C++ )
hi,
Im a newbie here..i would like to ask any idea on how to create a SNMP application in C++ or in C that will be running on a Linux machine. The application would run on the Linux console and then it would just listen for snmp traps sent through the UDP Port 162 and then display the attributes of the received traps. I searched for articles and inputs in the internet and i found out regarding snmptrapd but i guess it is an application ( not a library )..im looking for a library in C++ or in C that will be used in creating the application.
My previous employer relied on Agent++ (from HP) for our s/w development effort. Frank Fock, the one who manages the site above, saved our "bacon" with the tools at his site. It shaved months off our development time.

Thanks..yah i cod also use C instead of C++...Regarding Net-SNMP, i have read about it and i only found a tool there that could handle SNMP traps which s the snmptrapd but the snmptrapd is just a tool..im looking for a library or function calls that could be used in listening for SNMP Traps in the UDP Port 162. There is a library n Net-SNMP that is for SNMP Traps sending..but for handling and decoding SNMP Traps i still didn't find one. Thanks.
