How to convert wlmp to mp4

I need to convert a wlmp file to mp4 but I can't figure out how. I use ubuntu 14.04

You need a windows system to export the wlmp file to wmv first. Every How to I looked at stated this.

Hi, I'd like you know that .wlmp is not video format, it's the Project file created by WLMM.
You can convert wlmp to WMV with Windows Live Movie Maker itself. If you want to convert WLMP to other video format like MP4, AVI, MOV and more. You need a third party video converter software. iCoolsoft WLMP Converter can do it well and it is very easy to use.
