I'm not familiar with VidaLinux, but I am familiar with Gentoo. There is a section in the Gentoo Handbook on configuring portage mirrors (
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...?part=1&chap=6).
I don't know what VidaLinux's /etc/make.conf looks like, but here is the relevant line from mine:
Code:
GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.osuosl.org/ \
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/"
If VidaLinux specifies its own mirrors, then I'd recommend moving (or inserting, if the one you listed isn't already part of the list) that one to the top of the list. Therefore, it'll first try the mirror you listed, then if it fails, it'll try the other mirrors as well.
I hope this helps.
