How to change login screen?


I have installed RH9 and choose to have a graphical greeter, what if I wanted to go back to text login...can u show me the command...I want to start RH9 on text mode...and i want to start x manually....

/etc/inittab

id:5:initdefault:

Change the 5 to a 3

Stupid question but since someone already brought this up.....how do you start X Windows at a prompt, one of thing i would like to know and really never found an answer.

startx usually does the trick

usually located in /usr/X11R6/bin

similarly, xinit, especially if you want to specify which window manager you want to use, for example:

xinit /usr/bin/fluxbox
or
xinit /usr/X11RC/bin/uwm
