how to burn an iso file in linux?


I want to burn an iso file in linux. which program would i use for this?

For example, assuming CD-RW media that you want to erase first, and assuming your CD burner is known to the system as /dev/cdrw:
Code:
$ cdrecord -v -blank=fast -dev=/dev/cdrw filename.iso
Adjust as needed for your specifics. Run "man cdrecord" to learn about all the options.

To burn a DVD, check out the "growisofs" program. Standard cdrecord does not do DVD's.

Is there not a program I can use in linux or do I always have to type out the commands?

You can also use k3b, gnomebaker or nerolinux.

Depending on your distro, it can be as simple as right-clicking on the .iso file and selecting "burn to disk" (or similar)
