how to add shortcut to k menu


Hi

I am new to linux. I have tried to install a program using
>./configure
>make
>make install

everythings goes fine and installation is succesful. But I can't find the link for the program in k menu.

When I try to run it using command, it does not work.

I am using mandriva linux 2006;

pls help.

kmenuedit is the application to use to edit the k menu.

As for the newly installed application not working, what command are you using which fails to start the application?
