How to add groups

Consider the following:

user1 (UID 1001) group1 (guid 150)

user2 (UID 1002 group2 (guid 152)

1) provide the correct command(s) to add the groups

1a) please provide the command(s) to verify

2) Please provide the correct unix command(s) to add both of these users into their traditional places (/home) with a bash shell and pass the output - including errors - of the command into a text file with your name on it into the /tmp directory

2a) Please verify your results

Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.

Any basic textbook on Linux or Bash could tell you how to do this from the command line. Alternatively, you could puzzle it out for yourself: try starting with the command
Code:
apropos user
That's how you learn!
