How to activate touch pad in Bodhi Linux

Hi, I am newly registered to this forum. I have tried Bodhi Linux in a virtual machine, and I was unable to have touch pad support.

I am wondering if it was because it detected that it was running in a virtual machine. Does not Bodhi offer touch pad support out of the box, or must I scour the net to find a solution.

Thanks for any help.

Generally speaking, you should "scour the net" before asking here...

Look for information regarding Linux drivers for the touchpad on your laptop (presumed). You should also include information about the hardware itself in your search.

IMO it is unlikely that the issue is because the instance is running in a VM, but more likely that the distro isn't detecting or doesn't have the correct drivers for the specific hardware. Can't be more specific because you haven't provided any specific information.

How about "function" button plus "touchpad" button.
Sometimes there is an off/on softkey on the touchpad (on the keyboard), and it could by default be turned off when booting the computer.

For me personally it is "fn+f7".

Try this to find the touchpad device name:
Code:
 $ less /proc/bus/input/devices | grep -i touchpad
