How: TightVNC to SUSE 12.3 from WIN7

Got a weird one I'm trying to connect to a SUSE 12.3 machine from WIN7 using TightVNC I can see the screen when I connect but I can't interact with the SUSE session, I'm confused and there is nothing I can find on Google that helps I'm obviously missing something. I'm using port 5900
