How safe is Sourceforge to download from?


How safe is Sourceforge to download distros from?

Everything comes with some risk. Check the hash and it should be ok. Sha1 or higher. md5 is broken. Really you should be pulling from the distro's website links, not sourceforge.

Though Sourceforge made a misstep several years ago, I think that they learned from it and can be considered generally trustworthy these days.

I have never had an issue with anything from there.

Hi, president of SourceForge here. SourceForge is extremely safe to download from. Since we acquired SourceForge in 2016 we've done a lot of work on improving all aspects of the site, including downloads. All projects are scanned for malware. You can read more about everything here.
