how do you install things?

well I don't really know anything about Linux for one

well I want to install the TiLP (program that lets you send things to your Ti from your computer) and I have no idea how to do that

I tried to install the windows version using wine and it did get installed but it doesn't work after that and just fails

so I downloaded the linux one (version 6.77 if it matters) and I don't know what command to enter in the console or anything to start installing it since there's no set-up icon or anything...

what do I do?

Debian has a very cool thing called "apt" here you will find a lot of programs

Code:
# apt-cache search tilp
tidev-modules-source - Sources for drivers for texas Instruments calculators link cables
tilp - TI <-> PC communication program for X
tiemu - Texas Instruments calculators emulator
So as you can see the "tilp" package is already in the Debian repository's, all you need to do now is grab them heres how.

As "ROOT"
Code:

apt-get install tilp
and your done, hope this helped.

*Edit* typo
