Since I can't find how to add to this thread I am using the edit. I installed linux on my chromebook and the instructions I got were to use Ctrl + t to enter linux after my chromebook booted up...but nothing happens...so I've got linux but now I don't know how to access it.

Have you looked at any Linux distributions or searched for information about them? Or perhaps searched for instructions about how to install Linux on an Acer Chromebook? There are quite a few hits and I feel you may benefit by considering the various options you find when you do that.
Please note that you and all your fellow LQ members are purely volunteers, so either someone here has done that and has a guide ready, or they'll instead search the web as I have done to see if the task has some hits available, it does. Please check those.
Shrink you windows partition from windows Disk Management to make room (unallocated space) on which to install your Linux system. After doing that reboot windows to test and run chkdsk from windows. When you have accomplished that, go to the link below and read through the first post by "oldfred" regarding Trust needed on Acer machines, fast start and hibernation.
I'd use GalliumOS not ARch. GalliumOS have the chromeos audio and touchpad drivers patched into the linux kernel, so that it works flawlessly on chromebooks.
