Unhappy How do I create icons if package doesn't (i.e. gentoo file manager?

I know I can create a link to the file and have the stupid gear there. But what file extension
is used (running Mandrake 9.2, KDE 3.1) on the icons? I can make the icon if I know what type of file and where it's located,

Thanks!

Let me put it this way...no gentoo icon

I Installed the gentoo file manager on Mandrake 9.2 with KDE (3.1) and get no icon in the menu. I'd hate to have to go to command prompt to bring up the manager. And you also have to pass a "switch" to it to bring it up as root.

Plus I looked in /opt. Nothing in there. Can someone give me more "newbie" info here. Just humor me
