boot to your livecd then
Code:
mkdir -p /mnt/system
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/system
chroot /mnt/system /bin/bash
from there you can try to install grub again.

I dont think i can do anything else anymore. I reinstalled windows on the same partition as before and deleted the linux partition which is currently nothing (it is waiting to be formatted for the appropriate system).

I would appreciate any ideas you can give me before i install linux again on the unformatted partition.

Thanks alot.

after you install your linux and have your system properly set, backup your config files like /boot/grub/menu.lst. also take a note of the commands that gave you the successful setup of grub. you can put the list of commands it in a file like /boot/grub/grub-INSTALL.

I'll do that. I should get it sometimes, I just have to install the 2 systems a few times until i get how to do it. It may take a little while.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks.

I looked on google, but did not find anything on my topic. Looks like google is not the only place to find an answer.
