Restore them from your backups.

Hi there,Thanks, By the way if I know how to do it I would not be asked.I'm a newbie to Linux anyway I have reinstalled the apache2 now everything is seems to be fine.Cheers

Usually what is down the /var/www/ path is your own website html/php files which are not part of the distribution webserver package. Those can only be restored from your backups - hence my answer.

As you did not provide any other information I thought that was a good place to start.

If you were able to restore from the apache package, then you must have meant the default index page, or whatever your distro puts there (the distro which you also did not specify).

Anyway, glad you got it back!
