Hi
i just installed ubuntu 5.04. And i need some help to get my radeon card installed, i can't really figure out how to get it working, i mean, don't really know what to do with the .run file or .rpm files..

and another thing, i have 2 other ntfs drives, i looked at the tutorial here somewhere on how to mount them but that just made me confused. so i would really appriciate all the help i can get

I think, that there are drivers that can be part of the kernel. However, i use the Radeon driver included in the X Windows. Do an "xorgconfig" and answer the questions for you keyboard, mouse , monitor and graphics card. Reading a manual could be useful too.

Find out if the ntfs module is already part of your system. An "lsmod | grep ntfs" might help. If it's not you can either compile the kernel with ntfs support, or download and install a module (at least for Fedora).
Create a mount dir "mkdir /placeNtfsIsMounted
Then enter the following in /etc/fstab:
Code:
/dev/hdX /placeNtfsIsMounted ntfs defaults,auto 0 0
The ntfs partition will now be mounted at startup.
