Welcome to LQ.

Year 2011: Backtrack 5 was a predecessor for Kali.

Backtrack 5 was based on Ubuntu 10.04, and can be tested with an old computer.
I think I many years ago used a year 2007 "Dual Core" for a Backtrack 5 test:

Most probably yes, it is definitely outdated. But exactly what is this "it" and what did you try?

Read the "How to ask a smart question" link in my posting signature. Saying "help me" and "how do I do?" gives us nothing to work with. Not only is Backtrack very old, but used for the same things Kali is used for these days; for advanced Linux users, and only for security/pentesting.

When you say "doesn't work", did you INSTALL backtrack 5? Running live on a usb drive? Virtual machine? What kind of hardware?? ANY details at all???
