Talking Help me!

uNF! I'm having problems with getting Enlightenment to start on Slackware 8.1, because it says it cannot locate my mouse. I'm using a USB optical mouse, and i've seen that other people are having the same problem as me. I tried a couple of their methods like editing the XF86Config file to say "IMPS/2" and "/dev/input/mice" type of thing, but it doesn't seem to work for meh.

Now, i've seen some of this stuff about enabling USB in the kernel, and uncommenting modules and stuff.. Now either, their not being complete enough, or im just WAY too newbie. Hehe. I tried typing stuff as root into the console like:

modprobe ohci
modprobe uhci
modprobe hid

and so on... the uhci one came up with errors, like IO errors and junk, and the others wouldn't do anything, i would type it, and it would act like it had no effect upon it

Anyways, if someone could help me figure out how to get this blasted mouse w3rkin', i would be forever indebted.

Thanks,
Ryez0r
