Help installing f10 on my laptop...


Has anyone installed Fedora 10/11 on Dell Studio XPS 13"....? I am just an amateur to linux... I just wanna know if there are any issues with the installation of fedora on Dell 1340. I ve heard some issues regarding the wi-fi. But any apart from that....? Like graphics issues....!!! I like install it asap... Please help...

Please only post in ONE thread

should be no problem to install f 11 on that laptop
but be warned Fedora is a VERY fast paced development distro with a new version every 6 months ,and very often requires FIXING

In general you shouldn't expect any specific issues. Distros like Fedora usually do a pretty good job of grabbing the right drivers for most things automatically. Of course if it doesn't you can always manually configure things. You best bet is to just burn the ISO to a CD and see what happens. Wi-Fi (and even worse dial-up modems) are sometimes more difficult because so many of the drivers are propriatary and it is more difficult to backwards engineer and right our own, very few companies bother making their code open to the community.
