Help GLIBC 2.2.3 error while trying to update XFree86

I just installed Mandrake 8.0 and I wanted to try to get my graphics card all setup but first I needed to update XFree86.

I ran the XInstall.sh -check:

Binary distribution name is 'Linux-ix86-glibc22'

and pull down the files from the glibc22 folder off the Xfree86 ftp. I do so, run the script from the console, and receive the following error:

Checking which OS you're running...
uname reports 'Linux' version '2.4.3-20mdk', architecture 'i686'.
Object format is 'ELF'. libc version is '6.2.2' (6.2).

./extract: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.2.3' not found (required by ./extract)
extract doesn't work properly, renaming it to 'extract.bad'

Any ideas?
