Unhappy HELP: Cannot Configure CUPS to Recognize Parallel Printer Port as a Printing Device!

When I go to 127.0.0.1:631/admin -> Manage Printers -> Add New Printer, fill in the name, location, and description of my printer (hp DeskJet 842c), and then proceed to the 'Device for <PRINTERNAME>' menu, there are no devices listed under the 'Device' drop-down menu. I am new to this Linux jazz and would greatly appreciate feedback on how I might configure CUPS to recognize my DeskJet via a parallel port.

Thanks,

Seth

Using kcontrol as root to configure printers is more easy than using cups directly.

Its not cups fault. Make sure you have paralell port support either in your kernel or as a module. I have to do this manually in Slackware, its not that big of a deal.
