HaM Modem on Mandrake 8.1

Hi, I am having a problem with my Intel HaM modem (installing it under Mandrake 8.1). I have the right driver, and I done everything like in readme file but OS is telling me that the driver is written for another version of Kernel.

I think that's not correct, and I see that lot's of users have the same problem (this Forum or Google query on ham and mandrake 8.1). I don't know what to do. Please help.

Linux OS without a modem is not OS at all.

Sorry, bad English.

If you have the answer, please help.

Bane ,Yu
