Now I am very lost. I hope someone could work thru this and put the various scenarious up and people could add to the posts. E.g. Windows Xp only (boot loader in MBR windows boot loader; Dual boot: Boot loader (TYPE, where to place, why, etc). triple boot (WinXp, Linux,LInux): now what??

But this is helpful as well.

You sure about this Franklin ???.
I thought lilo only kept a list of sectors it needed to load, rather than the actual sectors. What happens when you over-write the partition - does it still work or die ???.
Don't use it, so must admit I've never bothered loooking at the code.
