Gdm Out Of Date


Im getting an error "X server cannot start" I haven't used this version of linux in a long while. it may be out dated, however, i dont want to reinstall. is there anyway i can update gnome without having to reinstall. the version i have is 2.6.5-1.358 red hat.

Are you trying to run a system that was installed some time ago or are you trying to install an older version of Red Hat? It can't be too old if it has a v2.6 kernel.

You should include more information about what you are doing in your question.

I got the X server up by installing the first two disk again and formatin my root and creating a new swap dir. but now im having the worst issues with up2date and in I lost my link in properties of internet connection and now i cant sign on. Do You know the link or application that I should use to get online?
