Ftp


Hello All,
In FTP server( Default with Redhat)How i can configure users so that they can only Upload/Download files, they will be not able to remove,modify and rename files in server and I don't want a ftp user to able to view others files.

I am using RHEL4 so it must be vsftp server.

I'd simply chroot users to their home directories. Then they won't be able to travel to other users' home directories. How to do this is explained in the vsftpd.conf man page. Even without the chroot, if permissions are set up correctly, one user should not be able to modify or overwrite another user's files.
