Question fsck2.ext2 Failure to find superblock

Hi, I just installed Gentoo Linux and Windows XP in a dual boot but I must have configured something wrong: when I boot Gentoo it says fsck2.ext2 cannot find the superblock and that the filesystem might be corrupt. I'm leaning more towards some setting might be wrong in the bootloader (lilo) or kernel config... Windows (NTFS) is partitioned /dev/hda1 while my boot partition is /dev/hda2(ext2), the swap is /dev/hda3 and the root is dev/hda4(ext3), I tried to loo through the config files and change the settings as necessary, but I may have missed one or two, and I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

Check your /etc/fstab and make sure that the partition names are correct. Also, can you tell at what point in the boot thisd occurs (i.e. before or after init launches)?
