Question Format a vfat partition with Linux... possible?

I've been trying to find a utility or method for formatting a partition as vfat from within linux. I don't have a dos or windows system on this box, but /dev/hda7 is type 0C, vfat, and I'd love to be able to run a command from within my slack linux environ and get it formatted. I've seen mention of mkfs.vfat but that doesn't seem to exist...

any ideas?

Thanks!

mkfs.vfat is the way to go. You've got to be root and you might have to use
/sbin/mkfs.vfat
if not, there's got to be a package that installs the tool.
