Focusing the menu bar with the keyboard

You know you´re a newbie when:
You don´t know which key(s) to press to focus the menu bar!

In windows it is possible to hit the alt key on the keyboard to focus the menu bar (File Edit View ...) but in KDE I have tried every key on the keyboard and cannot get it right. Which key is it? Or what do I have to enable?

Thanks.

You'll notice that the menu's have a letter underlined in the title you hit Alt + letter.

For instance in Konq the first menu is Location with the L underlined, so to open the menu hit Alt+L

Wow, thanks. That should have been more obvious to me.
