firewall office pc performance

I am running Linux Mint on a home office PC.

From what I have read it should not be necessary to run a firewall on the PC, because the router will have a built-in firewall. However, I have a Huawei router which I do not entirely trust.

Will enabling the firewall with default settings via "gufw" affect system performance? For example, will browsing the web be slower?

Thanks.

Generally, not noticeably, but if you try hard enough it would be feasible to change that.

It is probably good not to trust any router, or similar, because they often have security issues and infrequently get updates to cure the security problems that arise.

A home networking router against the Internet is like tissue paper for a bullet-proof barricade.
