Firestarter and Mandrake 9

I just started using Mandrake 9 after using Mandrake 8 for some time. I wanted to install Firestarter firewall for Gnome 2.0 but when I went to install, I received a dependencies error message. Now although I have been using linux for a little while I still consider myself a newbie. Since I don't really get to play around with it to much.

I think I get what dependencies are, being files that this certain peice of software needs to run or install but my question is this. Can I safely download and install the files that the error message says I'm missing (I'll list them bellow) and where can I get them. And since I don't really get why I don't have these files, is it possible that I messed up on the install or that I need to do something to get my system up to par since these are missing ???

Anyways this may have been a really dumb question but I would really appreciate help with this.

Here are the files that are listed in the error message:

- gtk2 >= 2.0.1
- libcrypto.so.2
- libssl.so.2

Thanks very much in advance for any help at all.

Anna.

When you get errors like that you can head over to www.rpmfind.net and type in the missing library, so you'll wanna check that out. Another thing is that you probably have the packages on your disc that you used to install Mandy, but the search will at least tell you the name of the package that contains the file that is missing.

Cool
