firefox is messing with me

At some point yesterday afternoon, firefox started having an interesting problem. whenever I try to run it, it shows up in the panel with the working cursor, but the window doesn't open, and after a few seconds, it just disappears. what's the deal? konqueror will run, but won't open any webpages. coincidence? I think not. Thanks for the help.

Can you ping any websites? And what does "traceroute www.google.com" give you? How about ifconfig?

A few people I've noticed having problems with Firefox 1.0, including myself. My install was a pre-release and I wonder if its buggy.

Its installed on Windows 98 however and you may be having different problems. It couldnt even send off the bug report.
