I'm a long time user of windows. I have always been on the edge of switching to Linux, but have always been iffy. Recently I have poked around and found that linux now supports alot more then what it did with the addition of wine and wineX. Plus all the major applications i use day to day were orginally written for lInux.

I plan on switching to Fedora Core 2 soon. I have many files (Mp3's Videos) on the NTFS partition. Is there any way i can move them to The linux Native with out burning. Is there one file system read by both or a program... anything.

Plus I am going into College next year, and wish to head in the direction of video game design. Does anyone know of any good resource I could look at or any project that i could help for the sake of knowledge.

your best bet to cleanly transfer the files, is to create a third partition, about 500 megabytes. just transfer the files to this drive that windows and linux will both see, and can both read from/write to

Just to clarify that third partition should be FAT in windows or vfat in linux, you can format it in either one. You could also read from the NTFS partition and put the files on the Linux one. I am not sure if FC2 supports NTFS out of the box, but the RPM's (install files) are readily available and not too hard to install.

What program reads ntfs????
